EXAMINATION INSTRUCTIONS

 

  • The PPE examination is comprised of three (3) sections:
    • Section A - Law,
    • Section B - Ethics, and
    • Section C-  Practice

    In each section there are two parts: multiple choice questions and case study multiple choice questions.

  • The IEPPE examination is comprised of four (4) sections:
    • Section A - Law,
    • Section B - Ethics,
    • Section C - Practice, and
    • Section D - Enhanced (for Internationaly Educated Professionals)

    In the first three sections, there are two parts: multiple choice questions and case study multiple choice questions. The final section does not have Case Study questions.

  • If you are rewriting (a) section(s) of the exam you will be provided only with the appropriate section(s) online that you need to rewrite.

  • The examination is 3 hours in duration. If you are writing a college-based exam you will not be allowed to leave the exam room before 1 hour has expired. This applies to everyone whether you are writing the entire exam or only a part of it.

  • For all of the questions, select only one correct answer from among the choices available.

  • There is no penalty for guessing on a question.
  • If you need to take a break, please do so before you start each new section of the exam. You will not be given any additional time on the exam if you take a break. Upon returning from a break you will be required to re-confirm with your proctor that your workspace area is clear. If you are gone longer than 10 minutes your exam will be terminated.

  • After logging into the exam, verifying your name and clicking the "...begin exam" button, you will be taken to the first question. Questions will appear one per page.

  • The left side navigation bar shows all questions in the exam in red if there is no answer, in green if there is an answer. You may click on these to take you to any question on the exam.

Submission of a single question

Questions are submitted to the database when you:
  • Click the '<< Previous' or 'Next >>' buttons at the bottom of the question. These will also take you to the corresponding question.
  • Click the 'Save' button at the bottom of the question. This is not necessary, but you may wish to save if interupted.
  • Click the "Review' button at the bottom of the last question. This will take you to the review page where you can check your answers and submit the exam.
  • Navigate to another question by clicking the question number on the left side navigation bar
  • Click the Review and Submit link on the left side navigation bar. This will also take you to the review page.
  • Remain on a single question for more than 15 minutes. (Autosave) the navigation bar link will not change colour until you change questions.)

Final Submission and Review of the Exam

  • Navigate to the Review page using the navigation bar link, or the 'Review' button on the last question.
  • Verify that all questions are answered - A visual scan of the navigation bar will show any empty answers, but a thorough look through of the exam is recommended if time permits.
  • You may navigate back to any question by clicking the "Edit Question #" link or by clicking the question number on the navigation bar.
  • When you are satisfied, you may submit the exam by checking the check box and clicking the button at the bottom of the Review page.
  • Once submitted, the exam will be marked and you will receive feedback immediately.

Exam Policy

  1. The exam is strictly closed book. Absolutely no materials or resources, including cellphones, smart watches or tablets, are allowed around the exam area. The candidate must not receive assistance from anyone and/or other resources while writing the exam.
  2. If suspicious eye movements are detected, the proctor will request a room scan, and will continue to do so until satisfied that no suspicious materials are detected.
  3. As authorized by OACETT, the proctor may end the exam immediately if use of a cellphone or other prohibited item is confirmed. OACETT will be directly notified of any suspicious event.
  4. Bathroom breaks are only allowed after each section. The proctor will perform an additional room pan upon return.
  5. The candidate must not attempt to copy and paste the questions and/or answers from/to other websites/notepads.
  6. The candidate must submit the exam within the allotted time. Any extra time allowed due to technical difficulties is at the discretion of the proctor.
  7. The candidate must not copy, capture, print, and/or share any of the exam questions and/or answers with others.
Please note that violating any of the exam policies may invalidate your exam.
